Muskets, Magic, and Dragons!

Grown tired of epic quests, magic artifacts, and Dark Lords? Perhaps consider the growing subgenre of flintlock fantasy (aka muskets & magic or gunpowder fantasy)! These books are either set in an alternate version of late 18th-early 19th century Earth or a world that closely resembles it. Expect fantasy Napoleons, Revolutionary Wars, dragons, and magic mixed with gunpowder. These tend to be more grimdark but can also appeal to fans of Bernard Cornwell's Richard Sharpe, C.S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower, or even Jane Austen. Primarily for adult readers or mature teenagers who read adult fiction.
